As the state’s largest community-based primary care health system, NeighborHealth is committed to meeting the needs of the community and is excited to announce plans for a two-phase construction project that will kick off in 2024.

Why

Our neighbors have told us through community assessments and new patient activity that more primary care access is needed. Demand for primary care services continues to exceed the physical capacity of NeighborHealth’s existing clinical space.

What

The 20 Maverick Sq. Clinical Addition Project is a multi-year facility renovation and construction project that will add 27,000 sq. feet of clinical space to our existing East Boston footprint. Construction will begin in 2024 with the conversion of the existing 4th floor into clinic space.

Within our current building height, the addition will add 60 new exam rooms above the the Cradock Building parking lot located at 20 Maverick Square, enabling NeighborHealth to welcome thousands of new primary care patients over the next decade.

This project builds upon our commitment to construct landmark facilities in the neighborhoods we serve that are innovative and invoke a sense of pride and ownership among community members. Physical spaces will feel modern, comfortable, and welcoming to NeighborHealth’s diverse patient population, workforce and community, and will be emblematic of the high-quality care provided on this side of the harbor.

How

In keeping with our commitment to supplier diversity and inclusive hiring practices, we have set the highest minority participation goals for this project in the state and will continue to drive equity for our community as the project advances.  We are committed to working with the community to create a beautiful new space for patient care within our existing footprint.
